Simon

Chartered Physiotherapist

My Journey

Hello, my name is Simon. I am a physiotherapist with a particular interest in musculoskeletal rehabilitation and persistent pain. I now work full-time in an outpatient setting within the public sector, but I have previously worked in the community, treating people with both general and neurological rehabilitative requirements. I really enjoy my line of work and consider it a privilege to be able to help those who need it. Prior to becoming a physiotherapist, I did a lot of road cycling, having been lucky enough to represent my home nation of Ireland at international level a few times. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time outdoors, going to the gym and, of course, riding my bike – although nowadays I am primarily a fair-weather rider. I also like to read, and I always try to keep up to date with the latest developments in health science, specifically those relevant to physiotherapists.

Something about me

I have represented Ireland in road cycling, the road race and the time trial, at the World Championships as a junior, and have raced bikes in 8 different countries.
“My brother fell and broke his hip in August and after his discharge from hospital we contacted Home Physio Group. We booked Simon to visit his Care Home to work with my brother over the last several weeks and less than three months after such his fall my brother is walking better than before his fall. Simon’s help has been brilliant and key to my brother’s recovery. He is kind, friendly, patient, supportive as well as being very professional and extremely competent. We are so grateful to Simon and we cannot thank him enough for the progress my brother has made”. – Anne, Dorking
