Simon

Chartered Physiotherapist

My Journey

I moved to the UK after graduating from University and started working in the NHS soon after this. I have worked privately too. As well as working privately I also work as a rotational physiotherapist with the Royal Surrey NHS Trust. Lower limb injuries are one of my favourite areas to look at, having a personal background in cycling. I am also interested in shoulder pathology. I have good experience with sub-acute and long-term neurological conditions, e.g. Parkinson’s disease, stroke and multiple sclerosis. I am also well-versed in helping with falls (i.e. balance) and mobility related issues. I believe that being an active listener and logical thinker are two key skills every Physiotherapist should have – being able to gather the information I need from the person receiving treatment, putting a plan in place, working towards a goal is the foundation of all treatment I provide.

Something about me

I have represented Ireland in road cycling, the road race and the time trial, at the World Championships as a junior, and have raced bikes in 8 different countries.
