Sarah

Chartered Physiotherapist

My Journey

My career has taken me to Yorkshire, Kent, and New Zealand, where I have worked with diverse patient groups. I am passionate about empowering individuals to improve their mobility and enhance their quality of life. My expertise lies in orthopaedics, particularly trauma and post-operative rehabilitation, including hip, knee, upper limb, and spinal surgeries. I am also highly skilled in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, addressing joint, muscle, and tendon pain. Additionally, I have experience supporting patients with mobility challenges, both indoors and outdoors, and providing functional rehabilitation to promote independence at home. In my current role in Kent, I focus on treating patients recovering from elective and trauma-related orthopaedic surgeries, drawing on my deep knowledge and commitment to helping others thrive physically and functionally.

Something about me

While I’m not working as a Physiotherapist, I’m busy being a Mum to three young children. I also enjoy keeping my own body fit by going to the gym and swimming.
“After a fall which fractured my very brittle pelvis, and about 8 weeks bed-bound, I needed a Physio to get me walking and back home. The care home gave us your number and we were able to contact a local Home Physio very quickly. Sarah Filmer was able to get me walking before the move while advising about a stair lift and grab handles at home. And of course provide the exercises I needed and supervise my recovery. I cannot imagine how I should have recovered so well without her guidance”. – Judy, Kent.
