Did you know that daily moderate exercise can add as much as seven years on to your life???!!!
We all know the benefits of regular brisk walking but what do the statistics show.
The research, presented at the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress, followed 69 people between the ages of 30 and 60. Those who engaged in daily moderate exercise, such as a brisk walk or jog, high-intensity interval training (HIIT), and strength training experienced anti-aging benefits that could add an additional three to seven years to your life.
Sitting down on the other hand can put you at increased risk of many harmful physical conditions and diseases such as diabetes and heart disease.
.
How can you increase your daily exercise?
- Don’t be lazy! and walk up and down the stairs instead of using the lift at work!
- Get off one bus stop earlier to work and walk. If this means setting your alarm clock a little earlier, so be it!
- Leave the car at home and walk to the tube in the mornings.
- If you have a dog, take them on longer walks in the summer, which helps both your fitness and your dog’s health!
