I have 10 years of clinical practice in various settings, including inpatient, intermediate, and outpatient rehabilitation, intensive care, and community. I have had a varied caseload, greatly enhancing my ability to manage individual cases and sharpening my time and patient management skills. In addition, working in the community has enabled me to develop a flexible approach to caring for patients in their usual place of residence, advising relatives and carers on appropriate management techniques and avoiding unnecessary hospital admissions. It has also enabled me to work skilfully in varied and unpredictable working conditions. I learnt the importance and use of effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills during my academic placements and professional roles. In addition, working with patients with special needs, those with sensory impairments, and those at the end of life has helped to sharpen my interpersonal skills. Also, my experience of working with different ethnicities and different medical conditions has broadened my understanding of how to adapt my practice to meet individual needs.
