How we can help
It’s a given that most people who play sport will incur an injury at some point. When this happens, you may be forced to stop your sport and focus on recovering. This is an opportunity to heal from your injury physically and be mentally prepared for when you can safely return to sport. A physiotherapist can give you guidance throughout your recovery period.
Our method
To help you to return to sport following an injury your physiotherapist will do the following:
- Assess your injury and create short- and long-term goals with you
- Choose a suitable treatment plan, including hands on techniques such as soft tissue massage and mobilisations
- Give you a graded exercise programme focusing on strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination
- Look at your lifestyle choices
- Help with self-management strategies including ways to relieve pain, reduce swelling, and joint stiffness
- Advise you when you are safe to return and to what capacity
