I worked in Sri Lanka for few years as a physiotherapist at Teaching and Base hospitals. After I moved to the UK and completed Sports Therapy, I worked in sports rehabilitation for some time and switched back my career to physiotherapy in 2012. I had worked in various rehabilitation settings in the NHS such as acute in-patient rehab, intermediate care unit and step-down bed units and community rehab. I currently wok for Hillingdon Community Rehabilitation Team, where I assess and treat patients with various health conditions in the community. I love my profession as I can help patients in every aspect of their existence, whether it be their health, confidence, or even overcoming obstacles that seemed impossible. Treating patients in their own home environments provides better results as per my experience working in the community. /problems/low-confidence/
Something about me
I was part of UK Tamil student’s union while I was studying in the university, raised funds by doing cultural events, and send money back home for orphaned children that had no food, clothes and shelter. I was also involved in a project with ICRC back home, where we rehabilitated amputees, that lost their limbs during the internal war.
