My Journey

I have spent the last 17 years working as a qualified physiotherapist for the NHS, in a vast range of acute and community based settings. My experience ranges from running exercise and education groups for people with lung conditions or those at risk of falling, to providing individual specialist treatment to people in their own homes, including care homes. I have worked across many clinical areas, however my main area of experience and interest, is in older person care, and in particular falls and fracture prevention. I have had the opportunity to work on exciting projects such as a walking football group with Fulham Football club and a gardening project, using gardening as a means of improving a persons physical activity. I am very passionate about helping people to achieve their own goals and to help them stay motivated to keep active, by engaging them in something they really enjoy.

Something about me

During a recent 6 month career break, I spent my time volunteering with an adaptive winter sports programme in Canada. I was involved in supporting adults and children with physical and cognitive difficulties to access and enjoy skiing or snowboarding and got the opportunity to put my Physiotherapy skills to good use!
