Chartered Physiotherapist

BSc (Hons) - Southampton University

Areas of expertise

Musculoskeletal, orthopaedics, sports injury and prevention, elderly rehabilitation & joint and soft tissue injection therapy.

My Journey

I qualified in 1996 and began my career working in the NHS at St James’s Hospital, Leeds. Wishing to combine my love of travelling with Physiotherapy I then spent twelve months working in Australia finishing in Perth where I completed a post graduate course in Orthopaedic Medicine. On returning to the UK, I moved to Manchester and have spent the last 22 years working in both the NHS and independent sector as well as taking on an academic position as Senior Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University. Currently I work at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust as a Clinical Specialist in an Advanced Practitioner role. This involves working closely with the Orthopaedic Surgeons, local GPs and Physiotherapists to manage a complex caseload of patients predominantly with musculoskeletal problems.

Something about me

I have three crazy girls who keep me busy, but I also love cycling and competing in Triathlons. Twice weekly I volunteer as a British Cycling Ride Leader for a local cycling club which is great fun and hugely rewarding.
